WOLF TREE FK MISS HONEY
DOB: JANUARY 31, 2023
Honey comes from my own personal goal of "trying my darnedest to improve this line" ๐ซ . Her dam, Tilly, comes from a beautiful herd established in the 1960's, and I'm determined to do what I can to improve, so I've bred her to various sires see what works best with her genetics. I wasn't too hopeful, but then came Honey. Honey is everything you want to see in a doeling. She's long, level, and has a beautiful open chest. Her rump is wide and her rear leg angulation is spot on. She is a favorite around here and we're hoping her mammary system is promising. Each doeling we retained out of Tilly didn't quite meet the mammary standard we were looking for, but last year we bred Tilly with Finnick and see a lot of promise in Honey. We are hoping Finnick gives us enough improvement both on conformation and production to be able to continue a line through Honey. Hopefully she'll be our starting point and we can continue to improve generation after generation.
SHOW PLACINGS
- 4th place (out of 17) in Senior Kid class (under Judge Jackson Noble at the 2023 ASGBA Memorial Day Show)
HONEY'S HALF SIBLINGS
Eventually we'll get there! ๐ Each of these does had various production & conformation issues that made it hard to be able to continue a line through her. Fern & Tatum had very meaty udders. Tatum was the most conformationally correct (winning Jr. Grand Champion & Best in Show as a dry yearling), but had a very small "tucked under" udder. Raven had the best udder texture and attachments for a 1 year old FF, but conformationally she struggled (was very rump high with a weak front assembly). Conformationally, Honey wins above all three of her half-siblings, so we're hoping her udder will be decent as well.
